Don’t Spend St. Patrick’s Day at the Dentist!

Whether you are Irish or not, St. Patrick’s Day is filled with green garb, celebrations , and maybe even a little drinking.

But beware the Ideas of March! Believe it or not, emergency dental visits jump by 77% the after St. Patrick’s Day each year.

The main culprit?

Drunken fighting and clumsiness.

Here are a few tips to make sure your luck doesn’t run out:

·      Don’t take unnecessary risks, especially if you’ve been drinking.  This includes driving, operating machinery, or swimming.

·      Have back up.  A designated driver is great, but it’s also a good idea to have a level-headed friend around in case things get out of hand.

·      Don’t do anything that you’ll regret tomorrow.  If you don’t want to find yourself awkwardly on social media the next day, you may want to reconsider some of your actions.

·      Keep up with preventative care.  If you haven’t been to the dentist in awhile, your teeth are more susceptible to injury.

If your search for a pot of gold does result in a dental injury, give us a call.  We offer emergency services and can help identify if your condition can wait until you’ve sobered up.

Stay safe and shamrock on!
